Senior Kids Art Class

FOCUS OF CLASS:

The focus of the class is more on traditional painting with some crafty spins on some new activities. We take a look at lighting, texture, and composition. We typically add a sculpture or printmaking portion to this class as well (each session varies and does not always include printmaking - please get in touch for specifics). I like to base my classes on the skill levels and interests of each particular class so each session can vary.

An important focus of our class this session will be “mindfulness”. Students will focus on channeling their emotions and creativity into their work. With guidance and encouragement, they will work independently on the work that inspires them. Part of the classes will be set up like “paint nites” for kids - following along with the teacher to complete a painting. Other parts of the class will give students complete creative control so they can gain confidence in their own creative intuition.

For those students who have taken this class before, you are welcomed and encouraged to take the class again. Although there will be some repetition on techniques, the activities and paintings will be different and therefore, still enjoyable for everyone as well as great continued practice.

All Materials. Each class will include various arts and crafts activities and all of these supplies will be provided as needed.
